The one-day service unit of the Department for Registration of Persons provides a prompt and confidential service to the public. Issuance of National Identity cards under one-day service is provided for the applicants visiting the head office subsequent to getting their applications attested by the Grama Niladhari and the Divisional Secretary, and Terminals A, D, and C are established on the 9 th floor of head office of the Department for Registration of Persons for providing this prompt service to the public based on the electronic and mobile public concept. After submitting the application and paying the one- day service fee to Terminal D, 9 th floor, the applicant must remain at Terminal C on the 9 th floor until the National Identity card is processed. After receiving the text message sent by the department that the National Identity card is ready, the applicant can come to terminal A on the 9 th floor and collect his National Identity card. Furthermore, the Galle Provincial office also provides a one-day service for the issuance of National Identity cards.
