Notice to the Public. It has been reported to us that a party is currently misusing the name of Department for Registration of Persons and obtaining personal information of individuals and committing financial frauds. They use numbers similar to the hotline number of the department, 115226126, +94115226126, +0115226126, and the mobile numbers 0771167739, 0742756098. Information has also been received that this party is misusing the department’s name by creating a mobile application (APP) using the national emblem and claiming to register your information for a Digital Identity Card or e-National Identity Card. We hereby emphasize that the Department of Registration of Persons does not carry out such registrations, and kindly request you not to provide your personal information in response to such phone calls. Furthermore, if you receive calls from numbers similar to our hotline and are asked to provide your information via a fake website resembling the departmental website at https://drpgov-lk.com, we kindly request you to refrain from providing such information. We also inform you that the Department for Registration of Persons has not carried out any registration for an e-National Identity Card or Digital Identity Card, and the public is kindly advised to protect themselves from fraudulent individuals.
